District One EMS was founded in 1977 to provide emergency medical care and transport to the sick and injured throughout the communities of Berry, Black Earth, Cross Plains, Mazomanie, and Vermont. As a volunteer service, members of the communities dedicated time away from home and families to provide this life saving service day and night for their families, friends, and neighbors.

District One EMS continues its mission to provide emergency medical care and transport to the communities of Berry, Black Earth, Mazomanie, and Vermont. Currently staffed by a dedicated group of 30 volunteers and 2 full time members. Volunteers within and outside of the communities we serve continue to provide their time, talents, and expertise to continue our tradition of providing excellent emergency medical care.

Bunker gear is provided for our members to help keep our members safe and warm.

Rescue 28

Rescue 28 is a 2019 Demers Ambulance built on a Ram 5500 chassis. Equipped with 4 wheel drive and highly skilled crews, this ambulance is ready to serve anytime in any weather.
Lowrider. Rescue 28 has been outfitted with a Stryker stretcher Power-LOAD system and height adjustable Liquid Spring suspension to aid in loading and unloading of patients.
That thing got a Hemi?! Built on a Ram 5500 chassis, Rescue 28 utilizes a big block Hemi V8.
Rescue 28 is built with our patients in mind. From the Stryker Power-LOAD system to the LifePak 15 defibrillator, everything inside this ambulance is about quality care for our patients.
