Car 27 is a 2018 Grand Jeep Cherokee used as a Quick Response Vehicle (QRV). Unlike our ambulance, this unit is not always staffed, but utilized as staffing permits. Car 27 can to used to get a member to the scene before the ambulance arrives, can provide additional staffing after the ambulance arrives, can assist EMS providers in accessing patients where an ambulance can’t get to, and can respond to additional calls for services when an outside agency is responding into our district due to our ambulance already being on a call. Car 27 is also used for community events and standbys.
Beside not having the ability to transport a patient, Car 27 is equipped with nearly all of the same supplies that our ambulance carries. Additionally, like Rescue 28, Car 27 is equipped with 360-degree lighting, a multi-siren tone, portable radio, and a mobile data terminal (MDT) that operates the county computer aided dispatch (CAD) program to assist our responders in knowing additional details about the call they’re responding to.

Trauma Bag (bleeding control, cervical collars, basic splints, etc)
Medical Bag (oxygen, oxygen delivery devices, powered suction, advanced airways, etc)
Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
Medication Bag (BLS & AEMT medications)
